A causa del Covid e per una sicurezza sanitaria, sono in netto aumento il numero di bambini e ragazzi che studiano con i propri genitori. Il progetto per l’homeschooling sta coinvolgendo un numero sempre maggiore di famiglie, che preferiscono educare i figli con metodi diversi, senza l’obbligo di andare a scuola, e con una maggiore sicurezza. Con il termine di Homeschooling, o educazione parentale, si definisce l’istruzione impartita tra le mura domestiche da parte di genitori, o da persone scelte dalla famiglia, al di fuori delle istituzioni pubbliche e private. Molto diffusa negli Stati Uniti e negli altri paesi anglofoni, è presente anche in Italia. Il riconoscimento legale dell’educazione domestica è sancito dalla Costituzione che, negli articoli 30, 33 e 34, sancisce il diritto-dovere dei genitori di istruire ed educare i propri figli, la libertà dell’insegnamento e l’obbligo dell’istruzione inferiore per almeno otto anni, ma non l’obbligatorietà dell’insermento scolastico.
Because of Covid and health security, the number of children and young people studying with their parents is significantly rising. The homeschooling project is involving an increasing number of families, who prefer to educate their children using different methods, without having to go to school, and with greater safety. Homeschooling, or parental education, is defined as the education given within the home by parents, or by people chosen by the family, outside of public and private institutions. Very widespread in the United States and other English-speaking countries, it is also present in Italy. Legal recognition of domestic education is enshrined in the Constitution which, in Articles 30, 33 and 34, establishes the right and obligation of parents to instruct and educate their children, the freedom of teaching and the obligation of lower education for at least eight years, but not the obligation to enter the school.
