A vent’anni dalla fine della guerra in Bosnia, i terreni minati rimangono un serio problema. A sole cinque ore di macchina da Trieste vi é¨ una nazione che ha milioni di metri quadrati del proprio territorio ancora da bonificare perché le risorse disponibili sono poche. Eppure, il costo per sminare non é così alto, 2 euro per metro quadrato.Gradaä Ac é una città con circa quarantamila abitanti, nel cantone di Tuzla, a poche decine di chilometri da Croazia e Serbia. Durante la guerra rappresentava la prima linea del fronte. Solo in quest’area sono stati minati tra i 15 e i 20 milioni di metri quadri di terra e boschi. Dopo vent’anni ne sono stati bonificati solo 5,4 milioni. Il nostro é un viaggio in una normalità fatta di segni che avvertono della presenza di mine vicino a strade trafficate e nel mezzo di boschi che si affacciano sui campi dove pascolano le pecore.
Twenty years after the end of the war in Bosnia, the landmines remain a serious problem.
