Il Centro Ikeda, il più grande luogo di culto del movimento buddhista Soka Gakkai, è stato aperto a Corsico in provincia di Milano. Il tempio, progettato dall’architetto Giampiero Peia, può ospitare fino a mille fedeli. Fa parte del complesso anche l’antica cascina viscontea appena restaurata, dove si trovano gli uffici del Centro e altre sale di culto. All’inaugurazione hanno partecipato il sindaco di Milano, Giuliano Pisapia, i rappresentanti di tutte le principali religioni che hanno sottoscritto un documento per la pace e alcuni seguaci di questo movimento tra cui il campione di calcio Roberto Baggio.
Ikeda Center, the largest place of worship in Europe of the Buddhist movement Soka Gakkai, was opened in Corsico near Milan. It was designed by architect Giampiero Peia and can accomodate up to a thousand faithful. The complex also includes the ancient Visconti farmhouse recently restored, where there are the offices and other houses of worship. The opening was attended by the mayor of Milan, Giuliano Pisapia, the representatives of all the major religions that signed a document for peace and some followers of this movement like the soccer champion Roberto Baggio.
